Your job is much like any "thinking" job. Mine is like this as well... You have to find a balance, but there is always a stupid one that work more than needed, and become the boss. There are the ones that doesn't get things done and get kicked out.
I'm on balance, for 20 years in the same company, but I envy the fourth group: The ones that found the financial nirvana, and bought their own time for the rest of their lives.
