yeah on an individual level it's impossible to say whether someone is a paid troll, a volunteer activist or just isolated person who maybe watches too much cable news, that's the beauty of astro-turfed campaigns because it's impossible to tell a troll from any highly opinionated person.
Take for example the "Release the Snyder Cut' thing, which we know now was promoted by a troll farm but no doubt real people spontaneously joined in which gave it real currency.
I just think it's fair to say there's a general policy of the Democratic Party to shut down any criticism from the left and label it as Russian interference or fascist propaganda or whatever, and would be naive to assume paid trolls aren't part of that strategy, tho whose to say who is troll and who isn't just caught up partisan group think.
