But really it's mostly annoying because, despite how I probably come across in the circles I frequent, I actually have no useful skill set for work, and can't really get any sort of remote job due to this, so this job was like a needle in a haystack for me (which I was going to use the free time to start learning things to eventually get a fully remote job).

I have nothing to lose though, so if they won't budge on this, I will just threaten to quit anyway.
