In the very first episode of Strange New Worlds, Captain Pike states that the American January 6 insurrection directly leads to World War III and the Eugenics Wars. It wasn't clear to see then how one thing led to another. Now that we know that the Supreme Court's recent rulings are just a continuation of the January 6 insurrection, it's easy to see what's happening and what can happen.
