I was going to say that I think GNOME has to date rejected the idea that windows in Wayland can position themselves because the user should always have control.
Except that this also means applications not reopening in the same position on screen after closing unless they have some workaround.
That said there was a proposal on dev, Brodie mentioned.
But which tabs with which folders would still be up to the app to save I think.
