i think many people would agree that a centralized almighty state to control who owns what in terms of property is not a perfect solution and can sometimes go badly wrong and other times it works.
i would love to learn how alternative mechanisms would work.
The case shared in the article of your post seems very broken, but everyone has clarity who owns stuff at any point in time (regardless of fairness) and if the mechanism would be replaced, it would be good if it would not cause ambiguity.
If Bitcoin was an alternative to banks to take away unfairness inherent in that system, but would not have a clear mechanism to solve double spends, it would be worse than sticking with banks.
So how would a "private property registry or mechanism" to come to consensus about who owns what look like - or at least what direction do you imagine? 🙂
