Of course we all want - and are entitled to - a "clean and safe city." And no one is disputing that we don't have some issues.
But when I talk with people from elsewhere, it's clear that they have a fairly dark view of the City that's totally out of sync with reality. It's like they just see one block from the Tenderloin, the worst one, and that's the whole City for them. Which is not surprising given how hard that view of Frisco has been pushed - not only by people like Carlson and others on the far right, but also people who are, let's be honest, on the right here and are pushing the same narrative as part of an effort to seize power and reshape the City in their own, whitewashed corporate town image.
