“Mitsubishi Corp. will withdraw from Kentucky Fried Chicken’s operations in Japan, ending its more than half-a-century partnership since the U.S. fast-food giant’s arrival in 1970. The trading house will sell all its approximately 35-percent stake in KFC Holdings Japan Ltd. to The Carlyle Group Inc., a U.S. investment fund, for about 40 billion yen ($257 million), Mitsubishi announced May 20.”
