The hotel I'm staying at has normal, "basic" WiFi, but then "high speed" premium, paid WiFi. I'm only using the basic WiFi because it's free and I don't want need to pay for some higher speed connection. But, the hotel also block some websites which I'm using a VPN to circumvent...and my connection on VPN *seems* faster than without VPN. I'm wondering if this hotel is just artificially slowing down their WiFi connection for people using the "free" internet package vs. genuinely having a faster, premium connection. I.e., we're all on *the same connection*, but unless you pay the hotel money, they intentionally slow your connection down.
