SMITTEN

Out of nowhere she came
Unlooked for , unexpectedly there.

A night of connection
A night of joy

Teenage urges in an
Old fools body

Fumbling with feelings long forgotten
Forgetting lessons learned in the far past.

Sparks fly, but smitten
Trees bend in the storm

Confusion reigns ,
conscious decisions fail.

Nightingale he is at heart,
Giving succour his only trade.

Help she needs,
Let me help he pleads

Silence reigns down
Upon deaf ears

Tears rain down from
Dry eyes

Finally he withdraws
Human hearts must endure.
