Rewatching The Simpsons, I just finished S08E02 "You only move twice". Homer works for Skorpio, who's a Bond-esque villain, but from Homer's POV it's a raise, a better job, house and city. In the end they all miss home and come back, without realizing who their boss is.

This reminds me of people working in IT today. We crave to work for the more Bond-esque villains we have now, many passively or actively ignoring the consequences of our work.

My plead to them: Stop working for Skorpio.
