I've initially wanted to effectively just add "Janis" (like Janis Joplin) to my names. This is mostly because I feel quite comfortable with "Leonard" and "Robert", partially also because they "mean" something to me: They are in honor to Leonard Cohen and Robert Zimmerman aka Bob Dylan, the favorite male musicians of my mom/dad respectively. This is also why I chose "Janis", since she's my mom's favorite female musician and I'd be named after her if I was AFAB.
Now though, I currently use the name "Janis" virtually everywhere even while it is not my official name. Conversely, the names that I use or keep using (in this case, Leonard Robert) don't /need/ to be in the ID to still be "valid" to me. That's why I thought I could instead use the name "Janis Joan", in honor of Joan Baez, with similar reasoning as before, as my new name. The "old" handle of "Leonard Robert" would still be supported indefinitely though, basically as honorifics.
This has been growing on me tbqh... but the biggest hassle would be to change nicks & domains *again* :~
Or I finally get creative with a proper nick independent of names 0:-)
