I’ve visited a relative in the UK who relied on an oil wick fired AGA for most of their heat and cooking in a country house. Yes, it’s very comfy in the kitchen. Learned how to boil water on the left plate, bake in the hot oven/slow oven. You wear layers in other rooms though and hope for a sunny day. The electric heaters in the bedrooms were on timers and didn’t do much. But the grass outside is always an amazing green, even on those windy days.
