also I cannot believe that I never learned until now that `sudo tcpdump whatever | grep blah` will not work because tcpdump's output is buffered, you need to run `tcpdump -l` for it to work
(I don't think I grep tcpdump's output a _lot_ but I'm sure that this has confused me at some point in the past)
