Policymakers have been rushing through a variety of regulations, often complaining that the internet companies are "experimenting" on users without responsibility. But the same seems to be true of these policy attempts, which are put in place with strong claims of what they will do and how they will work. And policymakers then fail to see if those laws achieved their claimed goals. So I went and looked... And the answer is not good.
