bear witness to the disintegration of self
in the slurry of unbalanced cells
watch the road home roll from darkness
listening to the engine mumble
watch the oncoming headlights
and how the wipers fail
to sweep the tears away
and imagine how easy to swerve
and smash and fall to the valley
wonder if that might not be better
