Whether it’s Russian or Chinese scum, the world has really decided that it wants a world war.
Just like the previous two, it’s going to be between declining empires trying to grab land that doesn’t belong to them, versus everyone else.
Just like Ukraine is not Russia, #Taiwan is not China, it doesn’t want to be China, and it’ll never be China. And it’s never even been China either. Enough with calling them separatists. None of those alive in the island today has ever lived under Chinese rule. Taiwan has just had elections overwhelmingly won, again, by those who don’t want to have anything to do with their former cousins: is it so hard to respect?
China is a declining power, for political, economic and demographic reasons, and declining powers ought to learn the lesson from history that aggressive territorial expansion isn’t going to buy them more time - it’s only going to accelerate their isolation and decline.
The world should stand behind Taiwan in this moment, and make it clear that the dragon can’t afford to attack them without coming out with shattered bones.
