If you had to name video game subgenres, how would you call games where that whole level is always on screen and the goal is to kill all the enemies it contains, like Mario Bros, Bubble Bobble, or Don Doko Don? They are often called platform games, but so are games whose goal is to traverse the scrolling level to reach its end, like Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Rayman.
