What's even worse is when they gloss fash parties as "populist," which they're particularly in the habit of doing when covering the fash parties in Europe. The RN isn't a "populist" party, any more than is the AfD.
Not only does it contribute to their normalization, but it's a complete perversion of what the term "populism" signified, viz. movements which were eminently leftist.
