There's also the fact that their hardware wraps rom packs, without being interchangable. I don't want to buy a handheld limited to 10 roms, and be forced to buy another one for 10 more.
But then, I'm an enthusiast.
What I'm more interested in are things like the Evercade line of hardware and cartridges, in part because they release their games on cartridges that can be used across several form factors.
Evercade's partnership with SNK -- the idea that they might come out with an Evercade Alpha modeled after the old red Neo-Geo arcade units, is much more exciting for me.
