You're on to something. Part of the reason I had to move out of my home town was because everything was a memory. Every drive was like touring a museum of my life and it was emotionally exhausting. I used to want a lot of it back but I realized I outgrew it.
The problem with the present is that some things have passed away and nothing has come along to fill the holes they've left.
