Do you remember the first person who orange-pilled you? For me, it was erikcason (npub1hk0…20pf) The mixture of hope and empowerment in his writing is amazing. Erik portrays Bitcoin not just as technology but as a kind of saviour in our complex, often troubled world. It was this vision that sparked a deep resonance within me and began my Bitcoin journey.

Recently, My friend Callum, like me - new to this whole Bitcoin scene, was at a conference in Madeira trying to snag a signed book from Erik for me. He missed the signing and was a little nervous about catching him later—didn't even know if it was cool to just approach him. But when he finally did, Erik didn’t just respond; he welcomed him with a massive, no-questions-asked hug. No awkwardness, just instant brotherhood. That moment? It was a real welcome into the Bitcoin family for Callum. Kind of a symbolic reception for a newbie who was welcomed with open arms. I like this metaphor.
