vexl (npub1mft…rkl3) is definitely the way to go if noKYC.
It does fortunately not have any wallet inside (so it doesn't crafting any complicated tx's).
Therefore both parties use LN/on-chain directly the preferable way.
There is no escrow mechanism, no need to run heavy SW (like Bisq for example) with clumsy UI. Occasionally waiting for 'independent dispute' or dare to say don't update it for few releases, gl with smooth continuity.
But OK, Robosats easier compared to BISQ.
And the Vexl more usable for me comparing both.
No BTC one side and some KYC'ed bank account for the counterparty. No cash by mail (but ofc you can arrange it that way as well).
There is no ID needed except for the phone number.
Encrypted matching via graph made, from eventually chosen numbers in yours contact list (first and second degree of connection).
Sleek UI / originally inspired by the tested Signal messenger protocol (? - unsure if still apply to what extend) / easy way of sharing registration/number with the use of QR code if you would like to go for direct connection.
There is marketplace for goods, services and BTC<>cash. Some folks offer also BCT<>cash/bank acc transfers.
The phone num. is to shield from spam and also it's widely used IRL (unlike the nostr or too much doxed and cheap to make mail long term personal mail) - also acting as the filter because you see, based on connection, who could be offering and can ask/verify with those the trustworthiness of such potential counterparty.
Also until you choose to reveal the number yourself, none of the users can see that (but both parties can still communicate with only connection but no number or even name/profile pic sharing.)
The name can be and is by default randomly generated per each connection and you can choose to have different one for each revealing.
I use burner SIM (can be activated in different phone - just need to put the 2FA SMS code in Vexl app while going through registration process) so it's not even tied anyhow to my person.
It's cheap AF on Vexl, small amounts are 0-2%. For the bigger one usually below 5%.
ATM's usually (have camera on them, fck that) having 5-8% total fee. Avoiding that as much as possible.
It's f2f all for me.
Eventually I do buy here services and goods as well.
It's basically just a marketplace with good reliable matchmaking using registered numbers and optionally uploaded contacts. Simple as that.
So far the BEST experience ever from all noKYC options available. Period.
But one must have contact and users around, it take time and some real life PoW - not being asshole otherwise folks uncheck the contact (meaning you) and you are done for part of the graph.
My workaround to boost myself is attending community meetings and showing the app to the people. And sometimes there are common numbers added - later some will send you one.
DYOR (FAQ they have) but definitely try it out if it's possible in your country to register.
They will add some more social aspect in it soon to help BTC loners get in more easily.
