actually, there isn't a problem with that. Anything that needs someone else's server there's a hardware/software limitation. If #nostr had fewer relays available to handle the traffic they'd probably need it too. Here in the #fediverse the majority of servers in our poly-centric system require an invite or manually approval to create an account.
