We can easily forget with all our technology, that long ago, we were heavily shaped by nature, by our environment, and that the difficulties we had along our path in life, was to help us grow. The path was essential for this as it forced us to face muddy challenges and learn to overcome them. We recognized this, honored it and celebrated this... many cultures did this in different ways. We grew from the mud in nature.

We were always subject to much of mother earth we could not control, nor was there a need to, as we respected the challenges it gave us to become strong and wise. Mud along the path wasn't just normal, it was necessary.

Somewhere along the way, we decided the path was too long, it was too dirty and it was too uncomfortable.

So we rebelled and created our own world, one we could control, with tools that, after meeting all of our needs, would entertain us, keep us comfortable, while disregarding the importance of taking care of our mother and a lot of the life it gave birth to. We no longer needed nature, the path, or even wanted the mud.

But it wasn't enough. Anything making us uncomfortable, whether it's missing the morning coffee or a perspective that challenges our beliefs, we would try to control, with the tools we built for ourselves, because after all, we worked hard to build the world away from nature, that path and of course, the dirty mud.

We no longer needed to grow, because we no longer had a path. We scattered and bordered up places called 'countries' which promised safety and comfort, something mother nature would not do. Because she knew that was a lie. That our nature was not to find comfort, but to face the uncomfortable and grow from it.

Why is this important? To keep growing... so we could learn from the past and not get stuck in it. To learn how to solve problems together and not see others as them. To love each other without judgement, as our own mother does.

All that is left to do is to look back at the path and say it's worth walking, even with all the mud. The only change in that moment will be an increasing discomfort. But somewhere along the path, we will start to grow again, and even learn to play in the mud again.
