I've had some performance reviews in the last few days. Something I always struggle with, because I have a habit of screening out any compliments, and amplifying any criticism into a roar of condemnation.

I reckon one big cause of it is growing up neurodiverse (ADHD and almost certainly autistic) in a society dominated by neurotypical norms. Always trying to figure out what was "wrong with" me, that was stopping me from fitting in, no matter how hard I tried :(
