For anybody not familiar with Tampa Bay these models show either a catastrophic flood event or a negative surge event.
A negative surge Essentially what happens when a storm system lands south of Tampa it actually drains the water from Tampa Bay. So much so that you can actually find photos of people walking out in the middle of it. If it lands directly or just north this surge poos up and has nowhere to go.
I have lived in the area off and on for the past 35 years. I have never seen it flood like it did with Helene.
lot of people here are scared. The hotels that we usually evac to are booked up.
And off I honestly haven't finished cleaning up on his first go around.
It's probably going to take a year or so to get back to normal after this season.
