Both elders that we moved up North to help take care of are experiencing worsening health. Spouse and sister-in-law are emotionally wrecked. Doing my best to listen and affirm everyone’s emotions - there’s no sugar-coating this shit. And disappointed that I can’t do more. One bright spot: FIL is happy to have the company of our dogs. Gretchen is so sweet and gentle with him, supporting him in her own way. I imagine the bacon he sneaks her in the morning provides incentive, too. 😄
