Personally I wouldn't mix those two in one machine, or even network. If I'd expect strangers to connect to my service, I'd host that outside of my own network (hosting service) to limit incoming connections and exposing myself. I do selfhost cloudstorage locally though. Nextcloud (on TrueNAS in my case) might be worth taking a look at. There are great YouTubers (like Christian Lempa and NetworkChuck for example) out there that have great content about hypervisors, networking and general best practices.
