it seems (from my limited vantage point) like there’s been an explosion of interesting, viable, usable open source software, or maybe just in awareness/interested in the same, since various social media implosions & enshittification projects began. it really feels like there’s a lot of opportunity to do something of social value with software right now, which hasn’t felt true to me for a long time (a dispiriting state for someone who spent 12 years specializing in it)
