“if it weren’t for historic reasons, why would Apple give more permissions on their computers vs iPads...?”
I think they wouldn’t. History is the only reason they allow this, if you ask me. It seems clear that the new Apple is set on building walled gardens and taking their cut of all sales that happen inside of them.
