有中共「左王」之称的原中共中央宣传部部长王忍之，2月4日在北京逝世，享年92岁。
王忍之是江苏无锡人，1987年1月至1992年11月任中共中央宣传部部长，固守传统意识形态，有「左王」之称。
1990年党内左派挑起「姓资姓社」争论，力图影响改革开放的走向，最后以邓小平南巡，经济体制确定为社会主义市场经济体制告终。卷入其中的王忍之在中共十四大后被免去中宣部部长，调到中国社科院工作。
Wang Renzi, former head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee who was known as the "Leftist Wang," passed away in Beijing on February 4 at the age of 92.
Wang, a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, served as the head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department from January 1987 to November 1992. He was known as "Leftist Wang" for his rigid adherence to traditional ideology.
In 1990, when the party's left wing initiated a debate over "capitalism versus socialism," attempting to influence the direction of reform and opening up, the controversy eventually ended with Deng Xiaoping's Southern Tour and the establishment of the socialist market economy system. Wang Renzi, who was involved in this controversy, was removed from his position as head of the Publicity Department after the 14th Party Congress and transferred to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
