Yakushi Nyorai Seated Statue, Choryu-ji, Mie, #Japan, late #Heian period. Statue height 100cm, made of marquetry. The rich-faced wood eyes of Jocho-sama. High beard, small spiral hair. Has a high nose. The pedestal halo is a later addition. It is said that there was a Shichido temple built by Gyoki Kaiki, but it has now been destroyed by fire, and the current precincts are said to be the ruins of the ancient Sakurahonbo temple.
