It's ridiculous to argue that the US shouldn't place tarrifs from nations that tarrif the USA.
The currency flows to the lowest point in labor cost. In a circular economy, the wages rise with the rate of inflation. We can't do that with Mexico, India or China.
Regardless of industry, an American manufacture can't compete with the arbitrage in wages especially when they're tariffed from participating in other markets. It makes our goods uncompetitive in foreign markets.
That's not a free market theory. That's market manipulation.
