Sometimes I wish I had the confidence of a guy who could pedantically assert that “hacker” does not mean a person who breaks into computers but rather it is a comprehensive compliment of a person’s character, of their soul-deep desire for and skill at holistically understanding systems, that it is the highest compliment that you could pay another person and then make a website for me and my friends called “hacker news” because of course I am a “hacker” under this rubric
