#GM.β
While touching some grass this weekend, I got bit by fire ants (again) π.
These bites are really itchy. They blister and can take up to 2 weeks to heal.
I'm noting the treatment protocol again, with additional details for future reference and in case someone else may find it useful
1. Immediately soak in "as hot as you can stand" hot water. This is supposed to help draw out the venom.
2. Apply a paste of bentonite clay/water and wrap with gauze/wear a sock. (Turmeric also works to reduce itching, but the clay seemed longer lasting. Bentonite Clay is negatively charged which can attract and draw out the positive charged venom toxins). Repeat AM and PM until itching subsides.
3. Do not pop the blisters... Not sure why, but Chip (nprofileβ¦d3kh) advised against it... And it healed without scarring.
If you have any natural tips for faster healing/itch relief, please leave a comment π
