I was pretty hopeless looking back, for as long as 6 yrs into first paid employments. Uni's can't be expected to turn out (Johnsonism alert) "oven ready" candidates, even if, like me, their degree actually tallies with the job spec. They can & do turn out people with some basic training in critical thinking, surely THE crucial basic qualification?
