Chalk up another one in the “Mastodon is too hard for normals” column: I was trying to like/boost a toot from another instance, and it kept insisting I log into, or create an account on, that instance to do either.

I guessed (correctly) that if I pasted the URL of the toot into the search bar instead of going to that same URL, I’d be allowed to like/boost the search result. Which is just wack.

I get why it worked, sort of, but I’m not a normal by any stretch. And the experience was annoying.
