But as someone who has dealt with various kinds of social media, and who has had their life nearly wrecked by stalkers and racists on the fediverse, I think being in a silo is the best way for me to enjoy any kind of social media. What certain kind of people fail to realize is that social media, for many people, is a platform for connection, expression and profiting off of your creative endeavors, all of this is true, but that comes with a heavier price. And if I want to build a wall to protect myself, I will, and I can. quoting note1myz…d8gmI’m trying to understand this. How content distributed via bridges could violate the silver rule here. It’s hard for me to see valid reasons why should everything be opt-in within a permission-less, open / public digital context. Information wants to be free..
