Previously, I'd give them as much food as they would eat. But with a large ant colony this can be a dangerous game. I'd rather they take another year before I need to double their nest space again.

They are about 1900-2100 strong. In the wild they can reach up to 100k I don't think anyone has had a pet colony of carpenter that size. A more normal size is 30k and that's where I'd like to get them in the next year... but not the next MONTH... geeeez
