There’s the possibility of earning money, but it’s difficult to hit the threshold to monetize your channel, and it’s hard to get sufficient views and audience to make a decent income. I have been making my podcast for 8 years and prior to shutting off ads I was earning under $100/month in revenue. Then remove taxes from them, it doesn’t leave you a lot.
