"Money is the greatest story (meme?) ever told by humankind; while religion has its skeptics and government has its dissenters, everyone believes in money."
I forget where I heard this first in some book maybe "Sapiens" or the follow-up "Homo Duex" or maybe "The Selfish Gene" but it really stuck in my head during my bitcoin awakening and made me say maybe money is bullshit too? Why do I believe this story? It reawakened my skepticism that I had for dollars when I was like 10 or 11 years old in the late 80s and found out $ weren't backed by gold. That skepticism was mashed down by indoctrination in school and I thought I was just learning and took what was being fed to me at face value.
