yeah i spoke with the server hosters and it turns out im not the first to have asked about it, currently their shared hosting stuff doesn't allow for it and thats why it doesnt work but they are looking at ways to get around it. They said if i dont want to wait i can purchase (another) vps but im not that desperate I'll just wait. I had thought i'd done something wrong in the setup but i hadn't lol
