Americans celebrate how many years you’ve lived but in Iran we celebrate the year you’re entering. Which I think is more exciting. So rather than turning 5, a child is entering their 6th year, for example.
You get to celebrate and acknowledge they are entering a next phase. A celebration of growth!
Also does this mean it’s your birthday. If so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
