They just think "we get along well", "we share interests/hobbies", "we vibe", "she's fun to hang out with", "she's a good conversationalist", "I like the witty banter", "she gets my sense of humor", "she's a good friend", etc.
They don't realize that these are all proof of her having a similar level of intelligence.
