I agree, I once offered a out of work printer a job in my data centre. I offered him £25K to be on night watch (this was in 2001).
He desperately wanted to work and wanted the job, but he was getting the equivalent of £50K from the government to cover his family of 5 kids.
If he'd taken the job, he would have lost 100% of his government money.
I think this is wrong, I think he should have lost some of that money, but he should also financially benefit from working, so if I paid him £25K, he should benefit from at least half this increase value.
I couldn't compete with the dole.
