I was asking myself a similar Q the other day: what’s the different between a photographer and some who takes photos? My answer (not fully formed yet) was that the photographer takes photos with intention with the end goal of trying to tell story. For someone who takes photos it’s usually an afterthought.
I guess this could apply to a professional as they could be shooting be they were commissioned or end project/goal
