Rode the mountain #bike on Potrillo Mesa today. It's fun to try to spot the house from a mesa about a mile away.
I'm happy to say the geartrain/bottom bracket noise is gone, though I'm not entirely sure what I did to make it go away -- maybe just cleaning everything thoroughly. The new middle and small chainrings just arrived, now that I'm not sure I need them. I suppose I'll try installing them anyway, considering the old ones have 32 years of wear.
