as i can find no documentation on it, i'm trying to figure out through experiment whether libgc (the boehm-demers-weiser-einstein-podolsky-rosen conservative GC) masks out the unused bits of u64 addresses before testing (hence, supports tagged pointers), but i fail setting up a test big enough that anything is collected at all.
