For example, on a decentralized network, it makes absolutely zero sense to request to delete something.
After all, the recipients can simply ignore those requests.
Yet, deleting content is a thing on the Fediverse, and it is honoured because—and I supect—there is a real risk that other instances will not federate to the instances that don't honour requests to delete.
